   Commissioner Cuneo was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1953. She relocated to California with her parents as an infant where she resided until 1989 when she relocated to Tucson with her husband and two children so that he could take a position with the University of Arizona. Commissioner Cuneo attended college for two years at the University of California, San Diego and graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1975. She graduated from the University of California, Davis Law School in 1978.

    After law school, Commissioner Cuneo worked as a deputy public defender for two years in Redding, California where she tried numerous felony and misdemeanor jury trials and also handled juvenile matters and mental health conservatorship cases. She then joined the Shasta County Counsel's Office where she represented numerous agency clients including school districts, the courts, the personnel department, social services and the local county hospital. In 1985 she relocated to Humboldt where she worked as a deputy county counsel practicing exclusively land use planning law. In 1986 she relocated to southern California where she worked as a deputy county counsel for San Bernardino County representing the Department of Public Social Services in dependency matters as well as other administrative, contract and litigation matters.

    In 1989 Commissioner Cuneo moved to Tucson, passed the Arizona bar exam and began practicing in early 1990. Initially she did child support enforcement for the Pima County Attorney. In late 1990 she joined the City Attorney's Office in the civil division where she represented several city departments handling primarily administrative matters. In December 1991 she became Senior In-House Legal Advisor for the Tucson Unified School District where she provided advice to the Governing Board, Superintendent and administrators on a variety of legal issues, managed litigation handled by outside counsel and managed the in-house legal department. She left that position in 1993 to take a position with the Attorney General's Office where she handled only dependency cases for four years. She was appointed to the bench in 1997 by Presiding Judge Michael J. Brown.

    Commissioner Cuneo has been involved in a variety of public service projects in Tucson including developing an education seminar series for the elderly through the Pima Co. Bar, speaking on issues in the juvenile law area for the State Bar, law school and Juvenile Court and participating on the organizing committee and speaking for the Casa de los Ninos Parent Legal Education Program. She has also been involved with her children in scouting and swimming and she teaches catechism for her church.

    The staff of Division N includes Judicial Administrative Assistant Louise Farinech and Courtroom Clerk Cathy Pearson.
