Public Comment Invited for Six Judge Pro Tempore Applicants

 

Public Comment Sought on Candidates for Judge Pro Tempore Vacancy

The Arizona Superior Court in Pima County is asking for comments regarding six applicants for a
Judge Pro Tempore vacancy on its bench. The position became available upon the appointment of
the Hon. Kimberly H. Ortiz to Superior Court Judge by Governor Doug Ducey.

This position is responsible for presiding over various criminal cases. While the selected applicant
will be appointed a standard criminal caseload, an assignment to a problem-solving specialty court
may be required.

The Nominating Committee reviewed 15 applications for the Judge Pro Tempore position and
chose the following six individuals to be interviewed on October 11, 2021.

• Hampson, Renee L., Esq.
• Kamm, T. Clayton, Esq.
• Otto, Victoria A., Esq.
• Verenna, Alexandra Kate, Esq.

The Court invites comments no later than Wednesday, October 6, 2021, by 4:00 p.m. Comments may
be submitted in writing or verbally to a committee member. The Court will not consider anonymous
comments.

The Committee will recommend the finalists to Superior Court Presiding Judge Jeffrey T. Bergin,
who will make the appointment.
