Vacation
Unclassified employees receive 23 days of vacation per year. Judicial employees are expected to take vacation time on the same schedule as the division’s Judge.
All other staff accrue vacation time at the following rates:
0 – 3 years of service: 12 days per year
3-7 years of service: 15 days per year
7-15 years of service: 18 days per year
More than 15 year of service: 21 days per year
With the exception of unclassified employees, vacation time can be carried over from year to year. The maximum accrual allowed on anniversary is 240 hours (30 days).
Sick Leave
All employees accrue sick leave at the rate of 12 days per year.
Sick leave can be carried over from year to year with the maximum allowable accrual being 1,920 hours (240 days).
Paid Holidays
Ten paid holidays per year: New Years Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day After Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
AZ State Retirement System (ASRS)
Mandatory participation for employees working at least 20 or more hours per week for 20 or more weeks per fiscal year
Employee contributions are matched 100%
Includes Long Term Disability program

Corrections Officers Retirement Plan (CORP)
Mandatory participation for all Probation, Surveillance and Detention Officers
