Vacation
Unclassified employees receive 29 days of vacation per year.
Benefit eligible staff accrue vacation time at the following rates (if full-time; others are prorated):
0 - 3 years of service 15 days per year. 5 of the 15 days will be front loaded and employee will begin accruing hours after the employee reaches the point in time when they would have accrued the 5 days.
3 - 7 years of service 18 days per year
7 - 10 years of service 21 days per year
10 - 15 years of service 24 days per year
15 or more years of service 27 days per year
With the exception of unclassified employees, vacation time can be carried over from year to year. The maximum accrual allowed on anniversary is 240 hours (30 days).
Sick Leave
All employees accrue sick leave at the rate of 12 days per year.
Sick leave can be carried over from year to year with the maximum allowable accrual being 1,920 hours (240 days).
Paid Holidays
Twelve paid holidays per year: New Years Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, Caesar Chavez Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day After Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
AZ State Retirement System (ASRS)
Mandatory participation for employees working at least 20 or more hours per week for 20 or more weeks per fiscal year
Employee contributions are matched 100%
Includes Long Term Disability program

Corrections Officers Retirement Plan (CORP)
Mandatory participation for all Probation, Surveillance and Detention Officers

Provides for medical retirement under certain conditions

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Provides free confidential short-term counseling and referral services to employees and dependents for a variety of personal and work related situations
Education Reimbursement Program
The program will provide up to $5,250 per calendar year towards the cost of tuition, required books, registration fees, and laboratory fees. The Employee's lifetime maximum benefit would be for reimbursement of one Bachelor's degree and one Master's degree.
