SPECIAL ACTION (Arizona Rules of Court - Rules of Procedure for Special Actions; Rule 4)
Treated similar to an OSC.
Normally set 30 - 60 days from filing.
Requesting party shall provide an estimate of length of hearing.
Special Actions which involve criminal cases pending in City Court or Justice Court are heard by the Criminal Bench. Other Special Actions, such as those involving administrative appeals, including driver's license suspensions, are heard by the Civil Bench.
Set for hearing by court order submitted by counsel.
A Petition for Special Action is not efiled and should be filed at the Clerk’s Office.
