The Arizona Superior Court in Pima County Interpreter Internship Program is a program designed to supplement a local student’s academic curriculum or adult volunteer’s resume by giving participants a comprehensive understanding of the Arizona Superior Court in Pima County. Accepted student/volunteers, through observation and participation in research projects, learn about the roles, duties and responsibilities of staff and daily contract interpreters. Very few internships will be awarded annually due to the intensity of staff supervision requires for the program to be successful.
The program involves faculty recommended interns taking a class(es) or Court approved volunteers giving unpaid time to the Court Interpretation and Translation Services Division for four or six months. There is a preference for volunteers to be graduates of related higher education programs in interpretation and translation.
